The UF Oil Spill Task Force was created to coordinate research and response efforts related to the April 20 spill in the northern Gulf of Mexico.  The Task Force serves also as a clearing house for information related to past, present and proposed research and outreach efforts.

The Task Force, comprised of faculty from across all the major colleges at the University, brings a wealth of talent and expertise to bear on the broad suite of issues related to Deepwater Horizon catastrophe.  Designated focus groups provide information and address issues related to the transport and fate of oil and dispersants, ecological impacts, human health concerns, socioeconomic impacts, as well as legal matters and policy issues.
